Take Your Child to Work Day

Yesterday was "Take Your Child to Work Day," so we visited Daddy's work and went out to lunch. Kane is ready to learn all about the advertising world! But in this picture he's just ready for lunch and dumped all his Cheerios out! :-)

Backyard renovation!

Last week we had our backyard re-landscaped.  It was a very big project that we did not want to do all ourselves so we hired it out.  It took a full week of work.  Here is the progress!

Next was wall building, additional drainage behind wall, blowing dirt and sod prep....

Next Brett is building a big deck off of the sunroom and a small patio in the top left corner but we are so excited to have a prettier and more usable yard already!

We got a glimpse of summer last weekend with some warm Portland weather so we spent lots of time working in the yard!

Grandma time

Kane's grandma visited for her spring break last week.  They had lots of fun together while Mommy and Daddy were at work!

Sick

Poor little Kane had his first real sickness and fever last weekend. Mommy and Daddy were actually sick too, but nothing is worse than a sick baby. Although maybe we are lucky that he didn't get sick the first 8.5 months of his life?! :) Luckily it has passed and we are all healthy again. 

Kane's First Easter

Easter morning was so fun because Kane was actually interested in the eggs scattered around the living room and his Easter basket.

We took a couple family pictures in the afternoon since the weather was nice.

And then we went to Kane's Nana's house for Easter dinner.

Kane showed off his crawling skills,

saw his great grandparents,

 got some more Easter presents,

and watched his big cousins hunt for eggs.

Sweet cousin Beckett shared with Kane since Kane wasn't big enough to hunt in the yard!

Spring

Although it's rainy today, Spring is here! These trees on our street only bloom about one week each year, so we've enjoyed seeing them blossoming on our walks. 

Spring Break

Last week was Spring Break so Kane stayed home with Mommy all week.  We also had warmer weather so we got out a lot.  We had a picnic by the river,

Went to the park,

And visited the zoo.

This is not the zoo, but we had some deer friends hang out in our backyard for over an hour one day!
