Memorial Weekend 2015

Here are some pictures from our weekend at the coast.  Kane got his first experience with sand (which he loved!), celebrated his 10 month birthday and had lots of playtime with his cousins!

10 Months!

We've hit the double digits!  In months, that is...  Here's our big 10 month old!

Skype

We miss daddy so much when he's on work trips. Thank goodness for Skype!!

New Deck

Brett worked allll weekend long and we now have a finished deck! We're ready for summer!

First Mother's Day

Brett and Kane treated me to a perfect first Mother's Day! We started the day by Skyping with Grandma to wish her a happy Mother's Day, before going downtown for a latte and donuts.  We don't eat donuts often, but we really love the Old Fashioned at BlueStar donuts! Yum yum!

Then we visited the zoo, where Kane got up close with the bears! He's actually starting to notice the animals and not just the people =).

In the afternoon we went to Grant and Alicia's for a nice lunch with family, followed by a pedicure.

One of my Mother's Day presents was a lounge chair for our soon-to-be new deck, so Kane and I had to try it out! 

It's been a great first (almost) year of mommyhood!

Date Night!

Mommy and Daddy got to go out on a date Saturday night while Kane stayed home with Nana. Is it still a date if we were home at 7pm?!  Thanks Nana!

Little Friends

Tuesday Kane went to a friend's house for the day while Mommy and Daddy worked. He was a very good boy and got to play with his girlfriend, Emeline! They were born one month apart and are pretty cute together!

Kane has been very interested when Daddy is working in the backyard. He pounds on the door and tries to get out :). 

Kentucky Derby 2015

Saturday was the Kentucky Derby and our friends hosted their annual party.  We look forward to this party every year because it's such a fun event; everybody gets dressed up, drinks mint juleps and bets on their favorite horse!

Our horse pick, American Pharoah, won this year!  I think we've picked the winning horse 3 years in a row.  This is right after our big win... 20 big ones! lol

Kane enjoyed playing in the yard and found a leftover Easter egg :)

9 months

April 24th marked 9 months old for Mr. Kane.  Here are some shots from our ever-so-entertaining photo session. =)  We now have to use the tripod and remote to take these pictures because Kane is moving so much!

Kane also had his 9 month check up this week.  He weighs almost 21 pounds and measures almost 29 inches, putting him at the 70th and 60th percentiles.  His length percentile dropped off a little, so the doctor thought his length measurement might have been a little off, but either way his growth is great and he's all healthy!  His pediatrician also noticed that his top gums were very swollen and one top tooth had already started to break through.
